Ollie Hancock enjoys positive Fortec test
Ollie Hancock’s fledgling single-seater career received another boost last week with a successful four-day test with Formula Renault UK Champions Fortec Motorsport.
The Hampshire racer spent the week in France testing the team’s title-winning car at Nogaro and Val de Vienne with the 20-year old, who finished 3rd overall and best rookie in this season’s Formula Renault BARC championship, immediately on the pace and setting competitive times at the challenging French circuits.
Hancock admitted that he thoroughly enjoyed the experience and felt the whole week was a hugely beneficial experience as he assesses his options for 2008.
“It was fantastic,” Ollie said. “Everyone at Fortec was superb and really made me feel at home. The team is very professionally-run and the car was excellent to drive. Spending a full week with them has taught me so much and working with the guys so closely has given me a real insight in how to optimise both the set up and my driving style in a Formula Renault car. I’d love to work with them again.”
